Alan Wass and The Tourniquet
(The following biography was written with the help of Alan Wass one month before he died for the final time).
On February 20, 2015, guitarist Alan Wass fell through a stained-glass window and severed his right arm. Three blood transfusions, a helicopter ride and nine hours in surgery later he was pronounced alive- only just. Rather than descend into insanity and painkiller addiction, Alan decided to start a new life with a new band: Alan Wass and The Tourniquet, dedicated to the belt that saved his life. Music, it seemed, was still in his blood.
Sounding like the latest iOS update of The Rolling Stones, Alan Wass and the Tourniquet combine excellent musicianship, bohemian lyricism and the undying spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
Alan Wass and the Tourniquet have digitally released two albums and two EPs encompassing both rough and finished recordings of Alan’s work including ‘Lefthand,’ ‘The Lipstick Melodies,’ ‘Hired Gun,’ and ‘Love Songs’ in advance of their final album, ‘The Tourniquet.'
